    If you love the fresh smell of blooming lavender, I'm sure you've considered visiting lavender farms and picking your own or slowing down to take in the natural beauty and smells. However, given that the lavender season in certain areas is quite limited, you need to know when to enjoy the taste of lavender and where to catch the best show.

    So if slow travel is up your alley, here are the top destinations for enjoying the floral bloom of lavender across America. So if you need recommendations on which place to visit - I have a few for you.

    Fredericksburg, Texas

    Visitors can explore the Lavender Fields at the Fredericksburg Herb Farm and Becker Vineyards in Fredericksburg, Texas. The peak of purpleness (the blooming season) is from mid-April to June, and visitors can walk through the beautiful fields. The Becker Vineyards also hosts an annual Lavender Festival in early May.

    Door County, Wisconsin

    In Door County, Wisconsin, visitors can explore the Lavender Hill Farm. The farm has over 8,000 lavender plants, and visitors can enjoy the beautiful views of the farm and the surrounding area. Visitors can also cut their lavender and purchase lavender products at the farm.

    Harwich, Massachusetts

    Cape Cod Lavender Farm, located in Massachusetts, is a picturesque lavender farm that offers visitors a variety of experiences, from u-pick lavender backgrounds to educational tours of the lavender fields. Cape Cod Lavender Farm also sells lavender-infused products, including candles, soaps, and essential oils.

    Washington Island, WI

    Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm and Shop is the largest single-site lavender grower in the Midwest. The farm features more than 250 products made from their lavender buds and essential oils, and visitors can stroll through the lavender fields and floral gardens for an entry fee of $5 per person. Children 5 and under are free and must be accompanied by an adult.

    Cherry Valley, CA

    123 Farm at Highland Springs Ranch & Inn is a unique exploration of lavender farming and the art of extracting essential oil. From May to July, enjoy the picturesque scenery, stroll through organic lavender fields, learn how to make your lavender essential oil, and participate in guided tours in horse-drawn hay wagons. Sample lavender-inspired dishes and enjoy live music throughout the day.

    East Marion, NY

    Lavender by the Bay is a family-run lavender farm in East Marion, NY. The farm is known for its fragrant and vibrant displays of lavender, which are available in the on-site store. Visitors can enjoy guided tours, pick-your-own-lavender experiences, and various lavender-based products.

    Boyne City, Michigan

    Lavender Hill Farm specializes in dried lavender and lavender-infused products and offers educational tours and events to help visitors learn more about the unique properties of lavender.

    Sonoma, California

    Monte-Bellaria di California, Sonoma, CA: Monte-Bellaria di California is a family-run lavender farm in Sonoma, CA. The farm grows and sells a variety of lavender varieties, from English lavender to French lavender, and offers a range of lavender-infused products for purchase. Visitors to the farm can also enjoy guided tours of the lavender fields and purchase cut lavender by the bundle. 

    Yakima Valley, Washington

    Selah Ridge Lavender Farm, located in Yakima Valley in Washington State, is a family-run lavender farm that provides fresh, organic, and sustainably-harvested lavender. Visitors to the farm can take guided tours of the lavender fields and learn more about the unique properties of lavender. Selah Ridge also offers pick-your-own-lavender experiences, workshops, and a variety of lavender-based products, including soaps, lotions, and essential oils.
